At Petite Paws, we understand that you want the best for your dog, and we’re here to provide a safe, fun, and caring environment. Here are some common questions we get asked.
Please reach us at info@petitepawsdaycare.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.
• Small Dogs Only: We only accept small dogs under 15kg to ensure a comfortable environment for all dogs.
• Vaccinations: Your dog must be up-to-date on their vaccinations, including Parvovirus, distemper, and Bordetella (Kennel Cough). Proof of vaccination is required.
• Spayed/Neutered: Dogs over the age of 1 must be spayed or neutered.
• Socialisation: Your dog should be friendly and comfortable around other dogs. We conduct an initial evaluation to ensure your dog is a good fit for group play.
• Health: Your dog must be in good health, free from contagious illnesses. If your dog is unwell, we ask that you reschedule their visit.
Yes, we require all dogs to be booked in advance. This helps us maintain a balanced and safe group, as well as ensures we have space available for your dog. We also ask that dogs are booked for the same days each week to maintain consistency.
• We run a doggy school bus to pick up and drop home. We cannot guantee times but will give you a timeframe, this will depend on your location and where you are on the list that day.
• If you are dropping off and picking up yourself we will arrange with you what time is best
• If you’re running late, please let us know. Late pick-ups may incur a small late fee.
Fresh water is available throughout the day, but if your dog requires lunch or snacks, please bring them along. We’ll ensure your dog has a quiet and comfortable space to eat. Please clearly label any food or treats.
We can accommodate dogs with mild to moderate medical needs, but please note that dogs with extreme medical conditions, severe anxiety, or aggressive behaviour may not be suitable for our daycare environment. These conditions may affect the well-being of your dog and others. If your dog requires medication, please provide clear instructions, and we will ensure they receive it on time.
In the event of a medical emergency, we will contact you immediately. If needed, we’ll take your dog to our designated vet for treatment. All medical information, including any allergies or conditions, should be provided when registering your dog.
We are happy to accommodate dogs with mild anxiety, but extremely anxious or aggressive dogs may not be suitable for our daycare. Our environment is designed to encourage socialisation and group play, which can be stressful for dogs with severe anxiety or aggressive tendencies. We assess every dog during an initial evaluation, and if your dog is too stressed or exhibits aggressive behaviour, we may recommend behavioural training or suggest other care options.
We conduct a thorough evaluation for each dog before they join our daycare on a trial setting. During this assessment, we observe their interactions with other dogs, their comfort level in a group setting, and their response to new environments. If we notice signs of severe anxiety or aggression, we will discuss the situation with you and decide together on the best next steps.
We offer competitive pricing for our services, with discounts for multiple days per week. All daycare sessions must be paid in advance at the beginning of each month. Please refer to our Services & Pricing page for more details on our pricing structure.
At this time, we only offer full-day daycare. We’ve found that this provides the best experience for the dogs, allowing them to enjoy the full benefits of playtime, rest, and socialisation. All bookings must be for the same days each week.
We ask that you provide [Specify Notice Period] notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a daycare session. Unfortunately, we don’t offer refunds for missed days or last-minute cancellations, but we can offer a credit for future sessions with proper notice. Please refer to our Requirements & Policies page for more details.
Yes, we offer a trial day for new dogs to ensure they are a good fit for our daycare environment. During this time, we’ll evaluate your dog’s socialisation skills and comfort level with the group. If you have any concerns, we’ll discuss them with you and make sure your dog’s experience is a positive one.
We believe in keeping you informed about your dog’s experience with us. At the end of the day, we provide a brief update on how your dog spent their time, including any highlights or special moments. If you’d like more frequent updates, please let us know, and we’ll do our best to keep you in the loop.
If your dog has any behavioural concerns, we encourage you to discuss them with us before booking. We are experienced in working with dogs who may be anxious, shy, or have special behavioural needs. Our team will work with your dog to make them feel comfortable and safe in our daycare environment. If we feel that a dog is not coping well with daycare, we will work with you to find a solution or suggest alternatives.
